Friends With Benefits is thrilled to announce the lineup for the 4rd Annual Major Rager! Oklahoma based The Flaming Lips, will bring their psychedelic brand of alternative rock to the Augusta Common on April 6th. The Flaming Lips are three time GRAMMY Award Winners on tour in support of their latest and 17th studio album ‘Oczy Mlody’ which features the likes of Miley Cyrus. The album is receiving high praise from publications like Rolling Stone & Pitchfork. Flaming Lips' live shows can be described as nothing short of a spectacle. This concert will be a visual and auditory experience certain to delight patrons and leave them talking for years to come.
Right before The Flaming Lips will be a special, rare Rage Against the Machine cover set performed by Nashville rockers Moon Taxi called People of The Sun, an ironically clever reference to the first track on Rage Against the Machine’s iconic album ‘Evil Empire.’ Moon Taxi has performed this set at other huge festivals like Hangout, and it only seems fitting to bring this high energy performance to Augusta’s very own Rager.
The Eric Krasno Band will bring the funk before Moon Taxi. Fans of Lettuce and Soulive will be happy to see their GRAMMY winning guitarist featured on the bill. Krasno is easily one of the most respected guitarists in the scene, and his set will be an amazing interlude before the raging to follow.
Up and comers Stop Light Observations from Charleston will kick off the event with their eclectic roots and rock grooves. Stop Light is quickly earning a name for themselves having recently been added to billings at other large festivals like SweetWater 420 Fest.
Early Bird pricing will run until Feb 3 with $35 for General Admission tickets and $100 for VIP tickets. VIP will include preferred stage view, a tented VIP section with drinks, food, and private VIP restrooms.
The Official Afterparty downtown at Sky City will feature Augusta’s very ownFunk You fresh off of some national touring legs. Funk You continues to progress as an incredibly tight unit, and they're poised to keep the party jumping into the wee hours. Schema, another Charleston band, will open the afterparty with dance friendly instrumentals..
A portion of proceeds from The Major Rager will benefit Press On, an Augusta-based nonprofit whose mission is to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
